Alabama to West Palm Beach, FLA

Passing Vero Beach - home of Piper!

Check out the heavy down pour coming out of these clouds.....

Glad we were not going that way!

5 minutes later - SUNNY again! Go figure!

I sat in the back......navigated a little....

Anne Marie and Mama before take off from Montgomery, Alabama!

We left early Friday and I gave up my front seat to Mama. I navigated from the back as Anne Marie flew. We were warned that thunderstorms were bulding in Florida. It was smooth sailing until we crossed into Georgia and then into Florida.

We landed in Perry for fuel. As we were rolling out our landing, we passed by a Gopher tortoise on the runway. Good thing we saw him and missed him as those things are protected wildlife. We got fuel and forged onto West Palm Beach. We had to deviate directly to the eastern coast of Florida rather than going diagonally down the state as there were major thunderstorms in the way. We had discussed setting down somewhere if necessary. However, with ATC's help, we were able to make it down the east coast to West Palm Beach.

Susan met us at the airport and took us around town. We got to see some of her Vet clinics and an equine center, where we met her horse. We finally got to meet Charlotte the dog at Susan's house. For dinner, we ate at a wonderful Cuban restaurant.
